Burgess Falls Paddle

WHEN? April 24, 2024 | 1:00 PM CDT - 4:00 PM CDT
WHERE? Cane Hollow Recreation Area (Cane Hollow Road, Sparta, TN, 38583)

Join TennGreen staff for a paddle at Burgess Falls to get some miles in for the Hike-a-Thon!

For this easy 4-mile out-and-back paddle, we’ll launch from Cane Hollow Recreation Area and paddle up Center Hill Lake to the base of the beautiful Burgess Falls. Once we arrive at the falls, we’ll enjoy some time to swim and take a break before returning to Cane Hollow Recreation Area.

Paddlers may bring their own kayak/canoe/paddleboard. Kayaks can also be rented through our partners, Cumberland Kayak & Adventure Company. From Cumberland Kayak & Adventure Company’s home page, select “Kayak the Falls” category. Select the April 24 date and then 11 am CST paddle time. Hike-a-Thon participants receive a $10 discount on their kayak rental with the code TENNGREEN10.

Please bring a lifejacket (lifejackets will be provided with rentals), water shoes for walking around near the waterfall, water, sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses. Also, consider bringing snacks to enjoy at the base of the falls.

Park in the parking lot at Cane Hollow Recreation Area at the end of Cane Hollow Road (36.0328, -85.6214). Please plan to arrive 15-20 minutes before departure time.
