Tuesday, April 20, 2010, 6:00-9:00 p.m. Mack Prichard - Forever Green Tennessee Event at the Farmers Market, Nashville.

Celebrating the Lands of a FOREVER GREEN TENNESSEE and the Life and Work of Tennessee’s Premiere Conservationist MACK PRICHARD

Forever Green Tennessee is the top priority of the 2010 Sustainable Tennessee Agenda. The Tennessee Real Estate Transfer Funds, established in 1986, help conserve land for parks, wildlife areas, greenways, cleaner water; and preserve the natural beauty of Tennessee.  These "dedicated" funds were taken in 2003 and 2008 to help balance the State budget and could be lost permanently.  This event will support our work on Forever Green Tennessee and is a great opportunity to learn more about the issue and how you can help.

We will also present a Lifetime Achievement Award to Mack Prichard, Tennessee State Archaeologist and State Naturalist Emeritus.  Mack has been preserving the majestic places of this state from the time he was 16.  From his work protecting Radnor Lake to the South Cumberland State Recreation Area and the Forever Green Tennessee initiative, Mack Prichard has become a treasure among the Tennessee treasures he has worked so hard to protect.

As Mack said, "So much done, so much left to do".  Please join us as we honor one of Tennessee´s greatest heroes and learn about the conservation history of our State. You can be part of his legacy in saving the great places in Tennessee by supporting the Forever Green Tennessee initiative.
